Do you snore while pregnant, here are some reasons behind it.
Pregnancy Is a thing of joy but of course it has some minor disorders. One of the common disorders
is snoring, While you and your partner may be less than thrilled about this new development, at least you have a good excuse for snoring.LOL
Some women have never snored until they became pregnant. It feels weird, certainly embarrassing and definitely not like you want to snore, especially when you have never snored before in your whole life. So why now, you wonder! Pregnancy brings many changes to your respiratory system which affects sleep and also causes you to snore.
Snoring in pregnancy is very common,It is more pronounced during the second trimester of the pregnancy and even more pronounced during the last trimester.During pregnancy the nasal passages swell and become congested. The upper airway narrows and makes you more prone to snoring.
Up to 25-30% of pregnant women snore (so you are not alone!).Hormones like oestrogen and progesterone play a huge role during pregnancy giving rise to snoring.Anybody can be a candidate for mild to severe snoring during any part of their pregnancy. The increase in blood volume is also responsible for nasal congestion as it causes the blood vessels to expand. This expansion in the nasal area causes the mucus membrane to expand as well.
So what should be done to minimize or reduce the act of snoring.
Try sleeping on your side : it is usually advisable to sleep with your left side during pregnancy because it aids good blood circulation for both mother and baby.(your left is best for circulation)
Plump up your pillows and try sleeping with your head slightly elevated.
Keep an eye on your calories to make sure extra weight doesn't contribute to snoring.
Lastly, stay away from alcohol, tobacco and sleeping pills, all of which might even have a negative effect on your growing foetus(plus you should avoid them anyway when you’re pregnant).

This has serious implications for already stretched UK health services. It makes economic sense to help fix the snoring problem, before it develops into a much more dangerous and expensive condition. https://sleepseed.com/
